Reza’s 94th Minute Winner Sends Chenecks into the First Qualifying Round
O.N. Chenecks made history with a dramatic 1-0 victory away at Retford FC, reaching the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time in the club’s 80 year history.
With the tie still goalless deep into added time, Shad Reza produced the decisive moment. In the 94th minute, Reza, fired into the bottom corner from range to spark huge celebrations and send the Chens through.
It was a memorable afternoon throughout, particularly for 17 year old Archie Dyer. Called into action at the last minute following an injury during the warm up, Archie made his First Team debut on one of the biggest days in the club’s history.
The young goalkeeper produced several key saves to keep Chenecks in the tie before Reza’s late winner and was deservedly named Man of the Match for his performance.
